The Cancer Statistics by Age application organizes statistics by several categories, including Cancer Type, Age Group, Gender, Race, Year, Event Type, Count of Incidences, Group Population Size, and Rate. Click on any category to rearrange results by a particular field. For instance, if you are researching cancer survival rates among women, you can start by selecting the filter Gender to view statistics pertaining to women. Or, if you are looking for cancer rates in a certain age group, choose Age Group to sort information from youngest to oldest cases.
You can also search for cancer statistics using the filters on the left. Simply check as many boxes as you want under the six categories: Cancer Type, Age, Event Type, Gender, Race, and Year. Studying breast cancer statistics in 2000-2002? Select 2000, 2001, and 2002 from Year, and Breast from Cancer Type. Reviewing bladder, stomach, or kidney cancer in infants? Check Kidney and Renal Pelvis, Stomach, and Urinary Bladder under Cancer Type, and <1 under Age for appropriate cancer data.
When you’ve narrowed your results, click on any name (Prostate, Mesothelioma) under Cancer Type for further details. The in-depth look at cancer statistics compiles facts found in the filters, as well as Confidence Interval Lower and Confidence Interval Upper, information provided by Centers for Disease Control.
